Kamloops Bike Company’s Little Shuswap Trails is the only commercial land tenure in Canada that was developed for mountain biking only. This means that the trails use the fall line to maximize the experience of long continuous riding. Kamloops Bike Company has taken into consideration that some people feel intimated by downhill riding and for that reason built as much of the trail system on dirt so the ride is smooth and the landings are soft. Kamloops Bike Company trails are guided only tours so you will not have anyone else telling you to move or getting in your way. This is your very own private mountain bike venue and Kamloops Bike Company built it so you could experience a ride. Kamloops Bike Company offers downhill mountain bike tours for youth and adults. What’s included?
This is KBC signature trail. The trail has it all. The entire trail is single track first and foremost. Ol’ School was hand built 5 years ago and starts out with what every classic downhill trail has… a hike a bike!!! It takes 5 minutes, if that so don’t be groaning before you start out.
The first section of Ol’School starts with a super fast traverse with berms and a couple of very small log drops. The speed through this section is insane!!! Six distinct ‘features’ as we like to call them starting with one of the most challenging. Wimpy, is a short steep descent that takes you around a rock bluff. A total blast when you clean it!!! That is the first of six and each feature has a little something to pump that adrenaline a little more.
Clear the tech section of Ol’School and you are now into the fastest section of ‘The Meadows’. The more adrenaline you want… It’s here… Picture a roller coaster for bikes!!! Then leading into a bowl that you get to work back and forth from edge to edge. Three more challenging features waiting for you…. Finish with speed and high-fives. Bikes loaded….time for another ride!!!!! Click here to book.
Ever wondered what it would be like to go down hill mountain biking but worried it would be too scary or too hard? Thus, the reason KBC built Elementary School. The sweet thing about Elementary School is that it is has a graduated difficulty set up. There are three separate drops. The higher you go…the more challenging it becomes. Elementary School is built on a great dirt base so even when you fall, you won’t have to worry about getting hurt from rocks.
Elementary School is single track but it was built a little wider and not too steep. Some corners were built in to test your new downhill skills. With meadow traverses and flowing slight slope single track. The KBC staff are here to help you master the basics you always thought were just to out of you skill level!!! Elementary School really starts to shine at this point. Nice wide open meadow on single/double track. This section is great for those who have never ridden downhill as you can get a taste of a little speed and adrenaline. Super fast single track with some great directional changes. This treed meadow is all about the scenery … all about the thrill. This last section consists of a gentle dirt trail that lazily flows through an open tree grove and to our pick–up zone. Great place for ‘High Fives’!!! Click here to book.
Bambi is a trail that is all about bike handling skill and finesse. Off camber corners, short dirt descents, log rides for all levels… This is pure single track down hill riding. This is what we dream about when we see us riding the ragged edge. Let’s start from the top. A little pump single track to get our groove going…log ride and junction time.
Bambi starts with some short descents into some off camber corners. This is all about bike skills here. A little back brake here…hard on the fronts.. push that bike down to make these corners!!!LOVE IT!!!! The dirty here is so grippy that you can make turns with surgical precision. You have to if you want to nail a ‘dab free’ pass on Bambi. Back and forth across the fall line with a different style of corner at each end. Short tight switch back…straight down direction changes… Bambi has it all!!! Bambi’s log ride section. Great skill tester not from how tough the log itself is but more the finesse you need to come down the short dirt trail to line up the bike. Once you’re on it… BUTTER!!! The next log ride is one of those log rides that you can count on one hand the riders who have cleaned it. For those who have mad skills.. step up and give this one shot. The ride around is a fun little under and through. Stop to enjoy the scenery of the log rides and then look out over Little Shuswap Lake before you continue into the last section. More off camber corners with some short speed sections. Caught your breath, Cedo’s Revenge is front and center. Click here to book.
Bull Moose runs beside Bambi with a few more traversing sections. This is a great trail to work on those different corning techniques for sure. From the Bambi junction, Bull Moose heading across the fall line into a super cool section which starts out with a bit of a bowl. This is a very green section with all sorts of plant life to fill the vision of the ride. Pump through the compression to get up on the edge of the bowl to get a great view down to the base of the valley. Take a breath here and enjoy the scenery. Time to roll!!! Back into which now has turned into a bit of a canyon. Down one wall and up the other side to make a quick right and traverse down to the only log ride on this trail. One of those log rides that you need to commit to early and enter slow. Once you’re on it, you’ve got it… Quick across and then back down the fall line. Some quick turns and now the back and forth motion of bull moose comes into play. Just like a moose, Bull Moose doesn’t go in one direction very long before it makes a turn and back to where you came from. Great trail for those riders looking to add finesse turns to the ‘bag of tricks’. After a few of these traverses it’s time to test your control braking with a little descent into that same mini valley that started Bull Moose. Lots of directions change with some fun dips and turns. Out onto a fast little section of double track and there ya go… Cedo’s Revenge is ready for action Click here to book
This trail saw the most painstaking building so we could ride a full speed single track through the woods. Be careful adrenaline junkies. Cedo’s Revenge has teeth. Cedo’s starts with a straight descent into a sweeping left hander. Let those brakes go because it’s a high speed traverse into a bermed right hander and down you go. We did mention that this is single track with teeth? Focus on the trail. This is not a place to sight see at high speed!!! A couple more high speed corners and then…another log ride. This one is high and wide!!! Hit the log ride and into a long fast traverse. Lots of bike pumping through this section to keep it pinned!!! Click here to book
This is straight out of one mountain biking best known film, ‘Roam’ This section was a part of Matt Hunter’s section from Roam and you can feel the energy that was put into this section. Road gaps to meet your need. These side by side road gaps have seen hundreds of riders take the leap and experience the rush of the landing. Renown builder, Mitch Cheek had a vision for the Cauldron and built what is one of the most unique jump sections in mountain biking. Road gaps, amazing double and hips take you into the heart of the Cauldron. As this trail unfolds with amazing single track, you can’t help but think, ‘I’m riding in a section of Roam’. Some amazing cruising trail and then… The Orchard!!! Some of the best doubles any serious mountain biker could imagine. Click here to book
